Buying a static caravan.
At Lloyds Caravan Sales we are only too aware that buying a static caravan and then getting it sited at a suitable caravan park can be very stressfull for the customer so we have compiled this handy "what to do next guide" to make the whole process run as easily as possible.
Step 1: Visit Lloyds Caravan Sales!
The first step in "buying a static caravan" is always to visit us at Lloyds. An informal chat with our Sales Team can help you identify what you are really looking for and what you can afford. You can collect brochures and information on the static caravans and even take a look at a few on our showground to gain a better understanding of the sizes, types and options available.
We have over 300 caravan parks to choose from and a wide selection of brochures to take away. You will be under no obligation to buy, that's a promise!
Step 2: Where Would You Like To Be?
The next important step is deciding in which part of England, Scotland or Wales you would like your caravan or holiday home to be sited. Firstly we recommend you consider the distance and time you would like to travel to and from your new holiday home before actually
buying a static caravan.
Consider also:
- Access to public transport, if you dont have your own car
- The type of amenities in your local.
- Is a beach side location a necessity?
- Would you like great views of the Welsh Valleys?
- or does your family prefer funfairs and shopping?
Whatever you're main considerations in
buying a static caravan in a certain area, rest assured that Lloyds Caravan Sales can offer you a wide variety of locations and facilities to suit every taste.
Step 3: Find a Caravan Holiday Park
Before
buying a static caravan you need to choose a caravan park. The main selection criteria for caravan parks are facilities and annual charges.
- Do you want a shop on site?
- Do you require a club or a swimming pool
- Or are you looking for a get away from it all location on a quiet park?
Most caravan parks have also been graded either by the local tourist board or a trade association. Gradings take in to account layout, landscape, atmosphere and ambience, as well as facilities.
If cost is your main consideration you need to look at annual charges such as ground rent, rates and services charges e.g. gas, water and electricity. What is included and what it isn't?
Along with annual charges, all caravan parks have an initial siting and connections charge. This covers the costs of siting and levelling your new holiday home; connecting it to the on site services and preparing the caravan holiday home for use.
Siting and connection charges can vary greatly and may include extras such as verandas, TV aerials and alarms. It is important to establish what you would like and what you can afford!
Step 4: Choosing and Buying a Static Caravan
Finally when you have chosen your preferred caravan park and have been allocated a pitch, you will be able to choose the right holiday home for you. Key considerations may be:
- The size of your family and the number of bedrooms you require
- Maximising your view or the use of a veranda
- How often your chosen caravan park is open
- and the need for central heating and double glazing.
Note: Since pitch sizes vary, it is important to ascertain the maximum length and width of caravan you will be able to have! With a list of the basics in hand, you can then choose from the wide selection of caravan styles, layouts and colour schemes available at our Showground.
